Jaguars defense takes a huge blow; Lose Poz for year and Branch for 6 weeks

jagsToday the Jacksonville Jaguars were given horrible news regarding two of their best defensive players. Both Paul Posluszny and Andre Branch were injured in yesterday’s game against the Browns, but the extent of the injury was not known. Well today the team found out just how bad it was.

Posluszny is out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle. That’s a huge blow for a young team that was beginning to show signs of life after an 0-6 start, taking the leader out of the middle of the defense. Poz will have surgery and placed on injured reserve.

“It’s a big loss,” Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said. “That will be a difficult one.”

The team also lost Andre Branch to an injury. Branch tore his groin muscle against the Browns in Week 7 and is out six weeks. The Jags defense was starting to turn up as well.
