If EJ Manuel is hurt for a long period of time, Buffalo needs to call Josh Freeman
I am sorry, tonight’s game hopefully proved to the Buffalo Bills that having a quarterback like Jeff Tuel as the lone back-up on your roster is not smart. Tuel was horrendous in his first game ever. He was lost, held the ball to long and struggled hitting his receivers. When he did hit his receivers they dropped the ball.
The Bills need a quarterback with Kevin Kolb on the I/R and Thad Lewis on the practice squad, neither of them will help them win. They will have a week and a half to prepare for the Bengals, but if EJ is hurt, they will need a quarterback. Josh Freeman is a similar type quarterback who has a solid arm. The offense will be a little different for him, but he can come in and try to earn his keep and beat out EJ Manuel.
I highly doubt EJ will miss next week, if he does in fact have a knee issue, it would be wise to bring in a veteran, ASAP.
