NFL Draft Prospect Analysis: Haston Adams, DT, Mary Hardin-Baylor
Haston Adams is a very intriguing defensive tackle prospect out of a Division 3 powerhouse, Mary Hardin-Baylor. Adams has the skills to work from edge to edge proficiently as a rusher, he also has a very effective swim move that propels him into the backfield on a regular basis. He works his hands and feet in harmony to weave through offensive lineman quickly, this allows him to challenge the gaps and wreak havoc in the trenches. Adams racked up 54 tackles for loss over the last 3 seasons at UMHB, it is safe to say he was tough to handle. Measuring in at 6’ 5” and weighing 295, he is a big body with extremely long arms (34 inches long) and he uses his hands very efficiently as a rusher which creates an early advantage for him. Adams does a great job timing the snap and exploding out of his stance. Haston Adams will most likely be a priority free agent, but his effectiveness as a pass rusher and a run defender will help him fit into a defensive system somewhere in the NFL.
