Golden Tate shined yesterday for Detroit; Jets player praised him
While fantasy football owners were expecting Calvin Johnson to have a huge game against the banged up Jets defense, he was not the receiver that killed them. It was their acquistion of Golden Tate that had a huge X-Factor in yesterday’s game.
Johnson’s ankle had him questionable for the game. He had just two catches for 12 yards, but Tate did his best Megatron impersonation, catching eight passes for 116 yards.
“We knew Calvin was going to be limited today and we were hoping to not have to use him unless it was an emergency,” wide receiver Golden Tate said. “I think we responded well.”
One Jets player gave Tate major credit, he wouldn’t let the media leave without giving Tate love.
“You guys get caught up in names,” Jets linebacker Calvin Pace said. “But Golden Tate is a good receiver, too.”
The Lions play the Buffalo Bills next week and I am expecting the same big time performance from Tate.
