Free Agent RB Brandon Burks was arrested for drug possession
Former Troy star running back Brandon Burks, who played for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets last year, was arrested Saturday night in Enterprise on a drug possession charge, according to the Dothan Eagle.
According to Coffee County Jail records, the 23-year-old Burks was booked into the facility about 9:30 p.m. Saturday on a misdemeanor second-degree marijuana possession charge. According to the Enterprise Police Department, the arrest followed a traffic stop on Morgan Lane.
Burks, listed with a Troy address, was one of four occupants in the vehicle, the EPD spokesman said. Officers spotted marijuana “in very close proximity to the arrestee,” or Burks.
Second-degree marijuana possession is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year in jail.
