Five teams that could trade for RG3 in offseason
I very rarely ever agree with Skip Bayless, but I do agree with his take on the Robert Griffin III situation in Washington D.C..
@RealSkipBayless: I believe RG3 is done in D.C. but definitely not in the NFL.
Since RG3 will still be on the Redskins roster, I could see several teams trying to trade for Griffin. These are five teams I could see swinging a trade for the former Heisman winner.
Houston Texans – Let’s face it the Houston Texans are technically a quarterback away from having a very solid team. Although they traded for Ryan Mallett is he truly the answer? I do not feel he is, that is why I could see the Redskins trading their first rounder to Houston. Texans could be a very good team with an elusive RG3.
St. Louis Rams – This trade would be the most ironic trade in the history of the NFL. The St. Louis Rams were the team that traded the Redskins their pick to draft RG3. Not only did they land multiple first round picks but they could also land the quarterback they could’ve drafted several years prior. It would be weird, but it could work.
Tennessee Titans – The Tennessee Titans Have done pretty well under Zach Mettenberger but I’m not sure if he is the right quarterback for their system RG3 is a much better passer now and is a very elusive kid. He is a better Jake Locker.
Buffalo Bills – The Buffalo Bills are a better team with Kyle Orton, but they could kick the tires on RG3 if they have lost all faith in EJ. The team went with the 31 year old Kyle Orton over EJ earlier this year and it has paid off. I do not know how much Orton has left in the tank, but RG3 could be a good trade for them.
Dallas Cowboys – The Dallas Cowboys are a very solid team this year, but their quarterback is getting up there in age and wear and tear. Could the Boys turn to a younger player in RG3? I doubt it, but their owner did gush about him this morning on NFL AM.
