Draft Recap: NFL Draft Picks 16-23

So far there have been some amazing picks, but will Johnny Football Manziel ever be taken?  Up until pick 16, Manziel was still available and the Cowboys are on the clock.

Well Cowboys fans, do not get pumped up you did not take Johnny Football.  With the 16th pick the Dallas Cowboys drafted Zack Martin the offensive lineman from Notre Dame.  The Cowboys will likely kicked Doug Free inside and solidify their entire line.

With the 17th pick the Baltimore Ravens, continued to improve their defense.  Last year the team selected Arthur Brown to hopefully be the guy that takes over for Ray Lewis and that did not happen.  So this year the team draft C.J. Mosley. They did not waste much time to draft the former Alabama mauler.

The New York Jets had the 18th pick, and while I thought they would try to land a wide out the team went in a different direction.  They drafted Calvin Pryor from Louisville.  The Jets like to play 3 safeties and this is a great pick.  I love the kid, he is a very hard hitter.

The Dolphins needed and Offensive lineman and they wasted no time to take the fifth best offensive lineman in the draft. The team selected former Tennessee lineman Ja’Wuan James.  The team needed help but they could have reached with this pick.

The Arizona Cardinals traded their pick to the New Orleans Saints for the Saints first rounder and fourth rounder. The Saints picked  a wide out, since they lost Lance Moore to the Steelers and found his replacement.  The team selected Brandin Cooks from Oregon State.

The Green Bay Packers went on the clock with the 21st pick and they found themselves a young safety who is a ball hawk. Ha Ha Clinton Dix from Alabama will be a very solid player for the Packers, I could see this being a match made in heaven.

Philadelphia Eagles landed on the clock and Johnny Manziel was still there.  Manziel originally signed his letter of intent to Oregon to play with Chip Kelly, but would it matter? Philadelphia Eagles traded their pick to the Cleveland Browns and they gave the Eagles the No. 26 overall pick and this year’s third-round pick (No. 83) from Cleveland and the Browns selected Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M.

Sorry Browns fans:

Brady Quinn and Brandon Weeden were No. 22 picks

The Kansas City Chiefs with the 23rd pick in the draft selected defensive end Dee Ford.  Ford is a freak athlete, who will benefit in an Andy Reid defense.  I am not sure on this pick, but I am sure it will work out for the Chiefs.
