Doug Whaley says he was responsible for the draft day trade that landed a 1st in 2018
Appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio, recently fired General Manager Doug Whaley made the claim that he was responsible for the trade in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft with the Chiefs. The Bills traded the 10th pick in the draft for the 27th pick of the Chiefs.
“As a parting gift, we left them with two [first-round picks] next year.”
Whaley basically said if he could do it all over again, he would secure his Franchise Quarterback immediately.
Either way you look at it, the Bills will have two first rounders next year in a very deep quarterback class draft. Maybe Whaley did set them up well for the future.
