Dolphins sign LaMichael James from practice squad
The Miami Dolphins had a roster spot open today after placing Branden Albert on the injured reserve. The team used it wisely activating former Oregon scat back and Niners draft pick LaMichael James from their practice squad.
That means Miami will have four running backs on the active roster — Lamar Miller, Damien Williams, Daniel Thomas and James. James — 5-foot-9, 195 pounds — was a star running back at the University of Oregon. He led the NCAA in rushing with 1,731 yards in 2010.
He was drafted in the second round of the 2012 Draft by San Francisco but he’s rushed for just 184 yards in his career.
Miller, who’s dealing with a shoulder injury, was limited to just four carries in Sunday’s loss to Detroit.
