Dallas Cowboys sign former LB Bradie James to a one day contract; Retires a Cowboy
James signed a contract with the Cowboys on Tuesday before announcing his retirement prior to club officials addressing the media in a pre-draft news conference.
“I said, ‘This is the first time I’ve signed a contract and didn’t get paid immediately after,’” James said. “I guess that’s the retired life, the legends life.”
James, a Cowboys’ fourth-round pick in 2003, played college football at LSU. He finished his Cowboys career with 1,009 tackles, becoming only the sixth player in club history to reach 1,000 career tackles.
