Dak Prescott is the odds favorite to win the Heisman; A win today could solidify it
Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott becomes the new betting favorite at Bovada, with 2/1 odds.
On Tuesday, Bovada released Heisman odds that had Gurley as the favorite at 8/5, overtaking Oregon QB Marcus Mariota. Gurley was suspended indefinitely on Thursday for an ongoing investigation into an alleged violation of NCAA rules.
Prescott threw for 259 yards and accounted for five touchdowns in Mississippi State’s upset win over Texas A&M last Saturday, propelling him to the forefront of the conversation.
The NCAA needs to have a player step up like Prescott, who lost his mother last year to cancer. The story is amazing, and Prescott is a good kid. The NCAA could use some good press right about now. If Prescott beats Auburn today, I expect him to win the award. If the NFL draft was today Prescott could be drafted as high as the first round.
