Colts Special Teams coordinator deserves a pay raise

tom mcThe Indianapolis Colts special teams coordinator has a set on him. Tom McMahon enters his second season as the special teams coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts. McMahon holds seven previous years of NFL coaching experience and spent the 2012 campaign as the special teams coach with the Kansas City Chiefs.

In 2013, McMahon coached kicker Adam Vinatieri, who set a career-high with 35 made field goals and recorded 139 points, the second-highest total of his career. He also tied a career-high with four field goals made from over 50 yards. Punter Pat McAfee set a franchise single-season record with 27 punts pinned inside the 20-yard line and also set the team single-game record with six such punts in Week 7 against Denver. This year Vinatieri is perfect on the year and he is 40 years old, and McAfee is a fire ball.

The reason I love his style is they will go for the jugular vein at any time. Check out this stat.

11 onside kicks have been tried in the NFL this year. The @Colts and @PatMcAfeeShow have the only successful ones & they’ve done it 3 times.
