Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles set a record in yesterday’s win against Chargers
Yesterday became the first time Kansas City Chiefs starting running back Jamaal Charles won a game at Qualcomm Stadium in his seven year career. While he was excited to get that win, he was able to also set a record in the game. Charles also broke the Chiefs’ career record for rushing yardage. He had 95 yards, giving him 6,113 for his career. Priest Holmes, who had 6,070 yards, held the old record.
“Everybody was talking about it but I wasn’t even worried about the record,” Charles said. “I just wanted to go out there and play football.”
Charles has been very impressive over the years, but this win yesterday was huge for the Chiefs organization. To beat the red-hot Philip Rivers in a huge divisional game, was monster for the Chiefs. If the Chiefs want to keep winning they need to feed Charles. He is a top 3 back when given the opportunity.
