Chiefs released DT Mike Purcell and two others

Chiefs made some moves to their roster

After adding depth to their roster via the 2018 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs have moved on from some defensive depth.

The team has been adding undrafted free agents over the past few days and this seemingly spelled the end for defensive tackle Mike Purcell, cornerback Sheldon Price, and tight end Anthony Firkser.
Purcell, a former regular season contributor for the San Francisco 49ers from 2014-16, signed to the Chiefs practice squad in November of this past season, but was never activated to the 53-man roster. He was signed to a future deal with the team in January, but the team’s third round selection of Florida State defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi could have pushed Purcell down the depth chart.
Price and Firkser signed future deals with the Chiefs in January, but looked to be long-shots to make the roster out of camp.
No corresponding moves have been announced, but with the undrafted free agent market heating up, their roster spots will likely be filled sooner than later.
