Could Buffalo Bills gamble with Jairus Byrd pay off?
Just a few days ago the Buffalo Bills decided not to slap their Pro Bowl safety with the franchise tag. Well over the first couple days of the open window free agent tampering period, Jarius Byrd has received interest from a couple of teams. One team showing slight interest was the St. Louis Rams, while the other were the Miami Dolphins. We all know the Dolphins will over pay for a player, but will they pay Jairus Byrd the 9 million a year he is demanding?
The Bills have made a very fair offer, but have not reached the 9 million a year mark. I am told their offer is very good, and Byrd’s camp knows the numbers on the table. The big question is will this entire game pay off? According to Peter King of SI.com, He too cannot see Jairus Byrd getting paid the 9 million a year he is demanding.
Wouldn’t it be interesting to see Jairus Byrd end up back where he started at a lower price than his demand?
Maybe the Bills organization is not as crazy as their fans make them out to be……
