Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator search should not last long; 24 to 48 hours?

When the Buffalo Bills granted Mike Pettine an opportunity to interview for the Cleveland Browns head coaching vacancy the Bills staff also began a list.  That list was of possible replacements.

While the Buffalo Bills have a former defensive coordinator on their staff, he might not be their first option, but rather a fall back option.  NFL Draft Diamonds is hearing that the Buffalo Bills are looking to hire their defensive coordinator within the next 24-48 hours.

Our sources confirmed that the Bills do have a guy in mind, that is outside the organization, but if he does not accept the offer, they would turn back internally.

We are also hearing that three coaches could be leaving Buffalo’s defensive side of the ball, if granted permission to interview.  Bills Quality Control coach Brian Fleury, Linebackers Coach Jim O’Neil and Defensive Line coach Anthony Weaver who were previously with Pettine in New York under Rex Ryan. It is also said that the Browns will hire former Bills LB coach Chuck Driesbach.

I don’t know who it is, but I am hearing that people have heard of him, and not to worry about the defense if he is hired.  That is refreshing news Bills fans.  Make sure to follow us on twitter @DraftDiamonds and @drocksthaparty .
