Buffalo Bills should call Vincent Jackson

Vincent Jackson should get a phone call from the Bills

The Buffalo Bills are playing great football right now and are currently leading the AFC East division.  They will face the Bengals this week and then have a bye week which will be necessary to get healthy.  The Bills starting wide out Jordan Matthews suffered a thumb injury and could miss some time.  According to Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports, Matthews is expected to miss a month.

This is going to hurt the Bills. Right now, outside of Matthews their wide receiving corps is not very good.  They have Zay Jones who has struggled mightily catching the ball this year, Andre Holmes who is decent at best, and Kaelin Clay who has been targeted 4 times and has only been able to bring in one reception. Last week against the Falcons, Matthews scored a touchdown, the lone touchdown on offense.  I honestly believe the Bills are going to need to find another possession type wide out, and there is a pretty good one sitting at home right now.

In the off-season, the Buffalo Bills signed Anquan Boldin, who retired a few weeks later, and they were hoping he was going to be a leader for them. Boldin said he wanted to get more involved with the community and left, but after that happened the Bills never really went out and signed a replacement.  With Matthews out too, the Bills should turn to the veteran Vincent Jackson. Jackson has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and has exceeded 1,000 receiving yards six times in his career.

Jackson missed the 2016 NFL season to a knee injury and he is not getting any younger at the age of 34.  The good thing though is he is a huge target for Tyrod in the red-zone.  The 6’5, 230 pound wide out has a knack for getting in the endzone.  He would be a great addition and probably would not cost that much.
