Buccaneers activate RB Charles Sims from short term I/R
The team will activate the rookie from the injured reserve-designated to return list on Saturday and he may play Sunday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, according to a source informed of the team’s thinking.
With Doug Martin doubtful due to an ankle injury, Sims could share some of the load with Bobby Rainey, who will likely get most of the backfield work as the team eases the rookie back into game shape.
Expect Rainey to get most of the carries this week, and Sims will likely land 10-15 carries. With a good game, the Buccaneers could turn away from Doug Martin when healthy.
