Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?
Volunteered at Habitat for Humanity.
What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?
Calculus
Where are you from?
Silsbee, Texas
Who is your role model, and why?
Tim Tebow, because he hasn’t given up on his dreams despite all of the adversity that faces him.
Did you play any other sports growing up?
Baseball
Did you play any other positions in football?
I have not.
At your position, what separates you from others?
My combination of strength and speed.
When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?
My opponent’s favorite pass rush move as well as how they react to certain blocking moves.
Who was the toughest player you ever faced?
Myles Garrett
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?
Travis Kelce, because we have the same body frame. We rely on our quickness and footwork to get the job done rather than power from size.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I pray and eat beets before every game.
As a small school football player what obstacles do you feel you have to overcome?
The level of talent I compete against at my level isn’t as good as the bigger schools. I only have a limited amount of opportunities show my talent against the bigger schools.
What is your biggest strength?
My quickness
What is your biggest weakness?
My size, specifically my weight.
If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?
I’m a hard worker who strives for success. I am reliable player who doesn’t make mistakes on the field and stays out of trouble off of the field.
Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?
The Dallas Cowboys was my favorite team and Peyton Manning was my favorite player.
With your first NFL paycheck what would you buy?
With my first paycheck I will pick up my truck note from my parents.
