Starting next season the BIG 12 will have a Conference Championship game. It will be the first time the league had a conference championship since 2010.

The league voted unanimously Friday to bring the game back, which will start in 2017.

The Big 12 stopped staging a championship game when the league was reduced to ten teams in 2011. It had been the only Power 5 conference to not hold a championship game. It was definitely hurting the teams when it came down to the voting.
