  • Andre’ Wilson Jr.

Where do you play College Football?

  • Alabama State University.

What position do you play?

  • Defensive Tackle.

What is your height/weight?

  • 6’0″ 305lbs.

Did you play any other sports growing up? If so, what were they?

  • Track & Field.

Who is the toughest player you have competed against in College?

  • Brandon Silvers (QB, Troy University 2013-2017).

Are you listening to music before a game? If so, what?

  • Future- My Savages.

Do you have any superstitions before a game? If so, what are they?

  • I’m always calm before the storm.

Who is your role model & why?

  • My family are my role models because to watch them get up every day work hard for what they want inspires me to never give up on your dreams. You have to trust your journey with the Lord.

While in College, what has been your favorite & least favorite class?

  • My favorite class was African American Studies and my least favorite class was Economics.

Outside of Football, what has been your favorite experience while in College?

  • Being able to experience attending an HBCU in the great Alabama State University. It has taught me so much about myself and has also opened doors that I would have never imagined.

Why do you wear #97?

  • It was the number I was given my freshman year and making the best out of it is why I wear it.

Growing up, who was your favorite NFL Team & NFL player, & why?

  • Growing up my favorite team was the Atlanta Falcons. My favorite player was Michael Vick. My family are die hard Falcons fans so I’ve grown to love the team.

Who do you choose, Jordan or LeBron?

  • LeBron.

If you could be in any movie of your choice, what would it be & what character would you play?

  • I would be in the recently Tyler Perry movie Acrimony. I would be the character Robert.

If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who are they?

  • Martin Luther King Jr., Michael Vick, Aaron Donald.

If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose & why?

  • I would want to meet Martin Luther King Jr. Him being an African American activist inspires me and pushes me to do what’s right not only for myself but also for others.

Who is your favorite superhero & why?

  • I would say Black Panther being that he has so much meaning behind him just being a super hero.

What is your definition of hard work?

  • My definition of hard work is putting action to prayer and also being committed to the journey that comes along with your maximum efforts.

What is the most unexpected lesson you learned while in College?

  • That’s everything doesn’t always go as expected and you have to find yourself as a person first before you can fulfill your purpose.

What is something you wish you could go back & tell yourself as a High School Freshman?

  • That your inner happiness comes from loving yourself and having that spiritual relationship with God. With him anything can be manifested through trust and belief.

Are you a PS4 or Xbox One guy? What games are you playing right now?

  • I am more of an Xbox One guy but I rarely play the game but when I do I prefer Madden or NBA 2K.

What is the best part of your hometown, Savannah, GA?

  • The best part about my hometown is our historic downtown and the beautiful tourist sights we have in our city such as River Street.

Are you binge watching anything on Netflix or Hulu right now?

  • No.

If you had one free hour each day, how would you choose to use it?

  • I would use my free hour to meditate and thank the lord for everything that he has done.

If you could sack any NFL QB, past or present, who would it be & why?

  • I would want to sack Michael Vick due to the fact of him being my favorite player growing up. He is extremely elusive so me being able to bring him down for a sack would feel good.

What are the goals in 2018 both for yourself?

  • Making an NFL team, remaining humble, being willing to learn and get better, and also being a positive figure on and off the field.

What has been your most memorable moment as a student-athlete at Alabama State University?

  • Playing in the Magic City Classic in front of 60,000 fans every year.

If you could give the 32 NFL teams three words to describe the type of man they are getting in Andre Wilson, what would they be?

  • Humble, Hard Working, Disciplined.
