Stetson Bennett was a great college quarterback, but was he ever a first round pick?

NFL teams are looking for great decision makers, people that can lead and that will help them win.

While Bennett is a great player, he has a ton of knocks. His biggest knock came this weekend when he was arrested in Dallas for public intoxication at 6:10am in the morning. The worst part about the arrest is Bennett turned down a huge opportunity to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl in front of NFL scouts.

Bennett decided he was going to instead focus on training in Dallas, and that is what led to him being arrested.

Add in the fact that he is 25 years old, and he is only 5’10, he is going to get crushed by NFL personnel. Mel Kiper Jr. believes that Bennett could be a third-round pick, but there is no way I am drafting him in the third round.

Bennett did some amazing stuff at Georgia, but will teams be able to look past his off the field stuff? Add in the fact that he has had several run-ins with the media at Georgia and not wanting to answer questions, he seems entitled.

At this point I have Bennett ranked the 12th best quarterback in the Draft. I have guys like Tanner Morgan, Sean Clifford and 2x All-Star Game MVP Holton Ahlers all above him.

I maybe wrong, but Stetson Bennett is getting some bad advice.
