Daniel Howard the former Fort Hays State standout defensive back was shot and killed on New Years Eve, according to multiple reports.

Officers responded just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday to a shooting near Northwest 10th Street and Hudson Avenue. OKC police said a fight broke out at the Sunset Patio Bar and it spilled into a nearby parking lot where shots were fired. 

According to KOCO Five people, including Howard, were hit by gunfire. Howard died at the scene and four others were taken to area hospitals. Police said some of the victims appeared to be bystanders. 

The former Northeastern Oklahoma A&M transfer was a two time All-Conference player before transferring to Fort Hays State. Please keep the family in your prayers during this tough time.
