Patriots QB Mac Jones disagrees with his head coach Bill Belichick and claims he could have thrown the Hail Mary

Bill Belichick took at shot at his quarterback Mac Jones saying he did not have enough arm strength to attempt a Hail Mary at the end of the game, but that did not sit well with Mac Jones.

On Monday, Jones appeared on “Merloni, Fauria & Mego” and said he did not agree with Belichick’s assessment. He was asked if the throw was too far and he quickly responded No.

“No, I think we obviously have a plan in that situation. You have to think about everything in that situation and that’s something that he did and that’s his job and he’s done that for a long time. Whatever the play call is I’m gonna run it and do it the best I can. If it was a Hail Mary, it was a Hail Mary.”

Right now everyone wants to blame someone for the mental breakdown. I am not sure who should take the blame but it was a boneheaded play. Players have to know that you have a shot at overtime. I am not sure I totally agree with the call, but the call was not a bad move. The throw backs were the bad move. So if you were to blame someone I would have to blame Jacoby Meyers, because he has been in the league long enough to know better.
