What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

What made me want to start playing football was originally me wanting to become more physical in basketball. I fell in love with the sport of football from then on and instead of being a sport that will help me in basketball it became of love of its own for me.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My junior year in college, our homecoming victory against Wayne State University (Mich) when we overcame a 19 point deficit in the 4th quarter. Best sporting event I’ve seen or been apart of.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

My goal is to make the NFL and to work my way into making an impact and cementing a role on that team.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Calvin Johnson, because he was my favorite football player growing up and got me into loving the sport of football.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My sister, just because she puts forth the hard work everyday and I strive to have a work ethic like her. Her work ethic has led her towards her goals which I know mine will also lead me towards my goals.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Pro style scheme, it requires offensive linemen to show up in both the run and pass game more evenly, have to be a complete player, and allows our offensive skill players to have many opportunities to make explosive plays. Makes for an exciting game plan.

What should we know about Jake Witt the person?

I grew up in a small town, graduated with 15 classmates, used to play college basketball, I am a big outdoorsman as well as a big gamer.

What stands out about your film the most?

My athleticism definitely stands out the most because I move well in space compared to most other offensive tackles. I’m able to more evenly match the athleticism of defensive skill players which gives me an advantage when working to get on blocks on the second level.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle them both with a similar approach. I try to identify what is causing a challenge and focus on solving that issue.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get a very raw athlete that will stand out in measurables compared to others at my position. They are getting a hard working player willing to conform and mold however they would like.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

The brotherhood that you form with your teammates and the bonds and memories that you create that will stick with you forever.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

John McMullen from Northern Michigan. He is the most underrated player because he can and has played every position on the defensive line. He racked up 75+ tackles at defensive tackle this season which just attests to the motor he has as well as the work ethic he brings to the field.
