Player Summary

Jack Plummer is an RSR QB who played for INPU from 2019-2021 before transferring to CAUN in 2022 as the current starting QB. A tall statuesque frame QB with barely average fluid QB mechanics. He is a limited mobile, athletic QB who doesn’t possess quality speed which causes him to have difficulty eluding defenders if pressure arises, possibly resulting in a loss or sack. Plummer is not a scrambling-style QB; he has marginal elusiveness to move away from defenders under pressure. He possesses the traits of a pocket passer and has an effective quick release when the target is identified. Especially in the quick game, his height, poise in the pocket, and proper timing in a 3-step drop are advantageous to the delivery/accuracy of his throws which at times overrides his below-average mobility behind the LOS. Shows more of an arm thrower with lesser usage of body weight in body/arm ratio in terms of stepping to a throw and following through. Similar to Patrick Mahome’s style of mechanics with less of his accuracy and velocity. Plummer throws the ball with a touch more so than velocity and has a throwing looping ball when passing downfield, not on-the-line throws. He has a tendency to stare down the intended target when receiving the ball at the snap which can give the defense an advantage by moving to the window of the expected pass. He is average in going through his progressions, shifting his body as he checks off downfield reads. Does not have a consistent base when projecting the ball away from his body and out of his hand while releasing it off-footed. His accuracy in completing downfield throws is marginal, having the physical ability to improve.

Scheme Fit:

RPO, PRO STYLE

Power Statement:

Effective and most accurate in the short pass game. Plummer shows a pitch-and-catch style of QB, dialing in on targeted WRs. Has an unorthodox style of QB mechanics that is effective for his skill set. Doesn’t drive the ball through windows downfield and throws more looping passes. Has difficulty completing downfield passes more than expected.
