Player Summary:
RS SR and 4 yr full-time starter at RT playing in the zone blocking scheme of NCAP. He has poor height, adequate weight and subpar speed with poor length and a powerful build. He is a solid athlete showing a combination of good explosiveness, lateral quickness and agility, solid acceleration and COD with adequate balance and solid play speed. He is a quality run blocker firing out low and rolls his hips on contact before latching on. He generates movement at the POA against 3T/4i/5T who possess solid size and ordinary AA with his good foot drive, play strength, physical toughness and solid UOH. On combo blocks as he quickly gets hip to hip with the G as they effectively doubleteam the 3T with subpar play strength before peeling off. He then uses his solid play speed to quickly reach the ILB with ordinary AA and play speed and uses his good play strength and physical toughness to easily overpower his man, creating a lane for the RB. In pass pro, he sets up with a good base, keeps his feet moving and shows solid bend. He quickly shoots his hands and uses his good play strength and physical toughness to anchor against EDGE with subpar play strength and UOH. He displays solid reactive athleticism as he does an above-average job of picking up the 3T with marginal lateral quickness and agility twisting towards the C gap. He exhibits good competitive toughness as he plays until the whistle. Poor length and lack of quality flexibility and UOH allow EDGE with good length, UOH and flexibility to get into his chest or under his pads and quickly disengage while in pass pro. Subpar balance prevents him from consistently keeping his weight over his toes leading to him ending up on the ground.
Scheme Fit:
OG in a zone blocking, run heavy offense due to his quality ability on reach and combo blocks and poor length for the T position.
Power Statement:
Experienced, tough player who excels as a run blocker. He fits better as a OG due to his poor length and subpar play against EDGE with good flexibility, length and UOH in pass pro.
