Minnesota High School standout football player Tyler Stone was killed in a car accident

Tyler Stone a standout offensive lineman died on September 11th, in a car accident in Minnesota. Stone was a senior at West Central Area in Barrett, Minnesota.

According to a crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol, Stone died in a head-on collision on Sunday when the 2007 Chevrolet Impala he was driving eastbound collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dalton James Johnson, a 23-year-old from Brandon. Johnson was traveling westbound.

Johnson was taken to the Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash happened at Highway 79 and County Road 21 near Sanford Township in Grant County at 4:29 p.m. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to the state patrol report.

Stone wrestled, was a vital part of the shot put team in track and field, and was a defensive end/offensive lineman for the football team. Last year his team finished 11-2 and in second place at the Class AA state tournament.

Stone recently switched to No. 45 making the move to fullback on the offensive side of the ball while also still anchoring the defensive end position.

Please keep his family during this tough time.
