Former Dallas Cowboys tight end is dead after rock climbing accident
Gavin Escobar was a star tight end for the San Diego State Aztecs that played several years for the Dallas Cowboys.
Wednesday, he an another rock climber were found dead in a remote area near Idyllwild, California.
The Riverside (Calif.) County sheriff’s coroner’s office identified the victims as Gavin Escobar, 31, and Chelsea Walsh, 33, both of Huntington Beach, California.
Escobar played tight end for the Cowboys from 2013 to 2016. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 247 pounds, he had 30 receptions and eight touchdowns in his career.
