The Detroit Lions love Jared Goff, but let’s face it Tim Boyle and David Blough may not be the best back-up options in the NFL if anything happens to Goff.

Well, there was a report from Andrew Fillipponi that is reporting he talked with a former GM who said Mason Rudolph to the Lions could happen very soon.

Rudolph is currently battling for the starting quarterback role in Pittsburgh, but with Mitch Trubisky ahead of him, it seems unlikely he gets on the field. Add in the fact that Kenny Pickett was given first team reps yesterday in practice, the writing in on the wall for Rudolph.

Rudolph is a much better option than Boyle and Blough. Last season, Boyle threw three touchdowns to six interceptions and Blough has four touchdowns to seven interceptions since 2019.

Mason Rudolph went 35/58 for 277 yards and threw one touchdown and one interception in the 2021 regular season. He actually started the game against the Lions in which they tied 16-16 last year.
