Lions cut all their quarterbacks except Jared Goff | Lions to sign QB Nate Sudfeld
Are the Lions getting ready to swing a trade? They just released all their back-up quarterbacks. The Lions released both Tim Boyle and David Blough, but there is a reason for it.
According to reports, the Lions are signing former Eagles quarterback Nate Sudfeld.
This year in the preseason Blough and Boyle were horrible. The team needed a solid back-up and the team is going to turn to the 28-year-old Sudfeld.
Sudfeld, 28, made four appearances for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2017 to 2020, throwing for 188 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He spent the 2021 season with the 49ers, who cut him Tuesday.
Campbell talked about his back-ups recently and said you have to have someone that can come in and win games.
“I think it’s what anybody would think for the position, and is it somebody we know can come in and, if something happens, you know, that they can steer the ship and they can sustain and win some games?” Campbell said. “If you lose your starter for two or three games, can they win those games for you is what you’ve got to decide. So that’s what we’re wrestling with.”
We will see if the Lions made the right move, but they could still swing a trade for a Quarterback as well. Maybe Mason Rudolph?
