PIttman’s Pocket is ran by Brian Pittman the HBCU guru breaking down HBCU football for our readers at NFL Draft Diamonds!

The top discussion at this hour, is who will make an significant, and immediate impact in this 2022 recruiting class at these HBCU programs. I have selected 5 potential prospects, who I feel will make an immediate contribution this up in coming 2023 season. Schools of representation of course Jackson State, but some schools will surprise you on this list. Surely not the players coming from the Junior College Ranks. Coaches like Hue Jackson has done a phenomenal job with his current recruiting class with a strong pipeline to California. Also Coach Dancy at Mississippi Valley as well. Coach Dooley at Southern also made huge recruiting move with signing Junior College prospects Joshua Short and Keyline Roach, a pair of stud defensive backs, coming in from experienced Junior College leagues.

Top JUCO Prospects Entering the HBCU

Mississippi Valley landed one of the most underrated JUCO quarterbacks and we expect him to have a great year for Valley!

Jamari Jones: At 6’3 210, Jones is an very talented prospect that Mississippi Valley reeled in from Power house East Mississippi CC at QB. Jones had 2,153 yards and 27 Touchdowns last Fall at EMC CC. Coach Dancy believes Jones can make the transition by his style f play, which can improve Valley chances to be an electric offense, like the days of Willie Totten and Jerry Rice.

Jurriente Davis will be joining Jackson State with new coach Mike Zimmer and head coach Deion Sanders

Jurriente Davis: 6’0 230 Linebacker From Hutchinson CC, was a premier tackler for the dragons this past season, which landed him in a special situation, now headed to Jackson State where they Lacked at Linebacker with big play abilities and a pretty good perimeter on making tackles, in which Jurriente is special for. 41 tackles, 3 sacks and 1 int.

You have to love what FAMU has been doing in recruiting. Bringing in Jordan Moore is a great move because the kid is a playmaker.

Jordan Moore: 5’11 210 Safety from Kilgore CC is a must you have to see talent. An pure safety and brings a tone of passion when delivering hits on offensive opponents. FAMU is going to love him.

Oklahoma City native Isaiah Major is a hard hitting and quick linebacker who had UMASS, Southern Illinois, Middle Tennessee State and West Florida trying to recruit him before he chose to sign with the Rattlers.

Isaiah Major: 6’0 220 also can be an good prospect for FAMU, who signed out of Last Chance U Independence CC. A very solid JUCO prospect who had multiple Division 1 programs trying to get him to their school but he ultimately chose an HBCU!

If you want to win, you must win in the trenches. Well, Myron Green is a massive man who is hoping to help the Hornets get some big time wins in the SWAC.

Myron Green: 6’5 317 is an All natural stud out of Itwamba CC, and h Eddie Robinson Jr and Alabama State Very happy but ready to see what this highly talented 3 ? will do this Fall. His analogy is fierce and disruptive.
