49ers safety was fined for not covering his knees, but he has a picture showing they were covered
George Odum the former small school standout safety was fined by the NFL for 5k dollars. What was the violation? You will not believe this, but it was a uniform violation.
The uniform violation was he was not covering his knees. In return, the league penalized Odum $5,305, which the 49ers are instructed to deduct from his paycheck.
The NFL fined Odum after that contest for a uniform violation related to the 28-year-old allegedly not fully covering his knee at points during the matchup. Odum is fighting it saying he had his knees covered. His teammate in the picture though, he may be guilty…….
The letter states:
“During the San Francisco 49ers-Minnesota Vikings game on August 20, 2022, you were in violation of the NFL Uniform and Equipment Rules,” reads a letter from the league. “Specifically, your pants failed to cover the knee area. Rule 5, Section 4, Article 3, Item (4) of the 2022 Official Playing Rules of the National Football League states that pants must be worn over the entire knee area; pants shortened or rolled up to meet the stockings above the knee are prohibited.”
This is pretty weak, but it is their rules.
