Could Matt Rhule add another former college player to his roster? Matt Rhule has been known to add former Temple and Baylor players to his roster. He has signed several former Temple players and now according to Joe Person the Pathers have inquired about Jets wide-out Denzel Mims.

Mims is a big wide receiver who has been used sparingly for the Jets. The former Baylor wideout was coached by Matt Rhule at Baylor and who knows maybe a change of scenery would be a blessing for Mims.

Robert Saleh wants to keep him around.

“It’s ‘I want more.’ Which is understandable. . . .We’ve gotta do what’s best for the organization. He’s one of our better players and we’ve gotta find a way to make this work,” Saleh said.

Mims was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft as the 59th overall pick. He has missed several games with injuries. The Panthers could use as many targets they can get for Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold. The Panthers and Jets have traded in the past, just look at the Sam Darnold trade. I mean could we do another before the start of the season?

Give Baker another big target!
