College Football: Which Teams to Watch in 2022

College football can be a bit predictable. You don’t typically see the underdogs disrupt the rankings. Power teams remain pretty steady at the top. Nowadays, there could be some upsets at Casumo football betting odds, proving that if you want something bad enough, you can get it. 

Add a winning schedule, a good heap of talent, and momentum, and you’ve got a good shot at making it to the conference. We’ve kept our eye on a few college football teams this season, and we think you should have a closer look at them.

Alabama – Crimson Tide 

This team has had the most successful record in football since 2008. The Crimson Tide also boasts six national titles. The team has the reigning Heisman Trophy winner (Bryce Young), and under the leadership of coach Nick Saban, we can expect great things. 

Arkansas – Razor Backs

This team has created a competent program with coach Sam Pittman at the helm. The team aims this year to overtake last year’s winner, Arkansas State Red Wolves. Successfully winning nine games in 2021, the Razorbacks have an impressive offense and a robust defense. This team is arguably Alabama’s biggest threat. 

Florida – UCF Knights

The Knights had a decent year in 2021, under Gus Malzahn. The team does have nine wins out of four of their last five seasons, and added some stars through the transfer portal. The Knights also topped the Gators in the previous Gasparilla Bowl. The team’s current rankings may seem pretty dismal to some, but we expect they’ll be back for gold this time.

Kansas – Wild Cats

The Kansas Wildcats have dominated the state since the turn of the century. Under the leadership of legendary coach Lance Leipold, nothing seems to be withering in the team’s performance. The Wildcats managed to bounce back after a dismal pandemic campaign. We expect the 2022 season to be their best since the 2012 Fiesta Bowl. 

New York – Army Black Knights

New York’s Army Black Knights have a tremendous record of winning all nine games in the last two seasons. Backing this team seems obvious as they’ve asserted themselves as the nation’s top service academy. This is great thanks to Jeff Monken, who has successfully managed to turn around the program that struggled significantly in the last few decades.

North Carolina – Wake Forest Demon Deacons

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons came off an eleven-win season and finished over .500 in the last four of their five seasons. Thanks to the expertise of coach Dave Clawson, the Deacons have the most consistent and dangerous offenses in the league. What’s on everyone’s lips is whether the team’s momentum will remain sustainable. We’ll just have to wait and see.
