Carolina Panthers odds of winning the Super Bowl are worse than they were before adding Baker Mayfield, OUCH

Baker Mayfield Browns qb index
How can a team add a former first round pick quarterback and their odds go down? That recently happened with the Carolina Panthers.

The Carolina Panthers made a trade for Baker Mayfield and let’s be honest he is better than Sam Darnold. I personally like the trade for the Panthers. Baker is getting some solid weapons in Carolina and he is going up against a Matt Ryan-less Falcons team and a Jameis Winston led Saints team in his division with Tom Brady. While the Panthers will not win the division it is not impossible for Baker to get some wins in Carolina.

Well, the online sportsbook SportsBetting.ag revealed this week the updated odds for the Panthers to win the Super Bowl following their acquisition of former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield.

The sad thing is the odds are worse now than they were before.

The Panthers were listed at 125-1 to win the Super Bowl before the Mayfield trade and are now listed at 130-1 after the trade. Additionally, the team has seen their odds to win both the NFC (from 50-1 to 60-1) and the NFC South (from 10-1 to 11-1) worsen with the addition of Mayfield.

Mayfield is not horrible and the Panthers have some weapons. If Christian McCaffrey can stay healthy the Panthers may shock some people. I think Vegas is just playing around with the Panthers fanbase. I do not think the Panthers got worse, I do in fact believe the Browns got worse though. Just my opinion.
