Former NFL player thinks Jimmy Garoppolo to the Miami Dolphins makes sense
Should the Miami Dolphins trade for Jimmy Garoppolo?
Shaun O’Hara the former New York Giants offensive lineman was talking on the NFL Network when he dropped a pretty good idea. He said he felt Jimmy Garoppolo would be a great fit in Miami backing up Tua Tagovailoa.
It sounds crazy, but it actually makes a ton of sense. Look at what O’Hara says.
“If I’m Jimmy G, I’m looking at Miami,” O’Hara said on NFL Network (first transcribed by NESN). “If I’m gonna be holding a clipboard somewhere and not play right away, give me somewhere where I can go out to a nice restaurant, I got a nice little nightlife going on. For Jimmy G to go to Miami and be reunited with Mike McDaniel, somebody he knows, I’m saying mid-August over and over again. Not just from a physical standpoint, but from a quarterback standpoint.”
I mean right now, the Dolphins have no clue in what they have in Tua. What if Tua is banged up? You are going to want a veteran back-up. This move to me makes a ton of sense, especially if I am Jimmy’s agent. I feel Jimmy G can come in and win the starting job if Tua ends up getting hurt. Jimmy G saves a ton of money by moving to Florida cutting out state taxes, he can enjoy surfing and the beach, and he has some crazy weapons. Add in the fact that he has an old coach that knows him well and you have a match made in heaven.
This makes a ton of sense, and if I am Miami I at least entertain this idea. The only hiccup would be Teddy Bridgewater who is also on the team. I mean, I guess it depends how much the team is invested in Teddy. But if a quarterback goes down for another team, guess who they will be calling?
