What are your favorite things about playing football for Elmhurst?

One of my favorite things about playing football for Elmhurst is how close our team is. We’re like a giant family. It makes it even more enjoyable to play with this team because we all have the same mindset which makes me wanna work even harder on and off the field.

What sets you apart from other linebackers?

I would say that I have a really high motor. I feel that I have a really good knack for visualizing plays before and while their happening. My anticipation is unmatched.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Being a linebacker scoring touchdowns doesn’t come so often so having a pick six against Millikin and a scoop and score in the same game was a sweet moment.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Luke Kuechly. Had posters of him up on my wall and I love watching the way he plays the game. So getting to pick his mind apart and learn new things I could put into my game would be amazing.

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

My dad had me in pads and a helmet as soon as I could fit into some. As soon as I started playing football I knew I was going to be a football player because of the adrenaline it gives and just the feeling of being in my own world. It’s an unbeatable feeling.

What should we know about Bryce Gable the person?

Family is a very important thing in my life, getting to enjoy time with them is something I’ll always cherish. I also am always going outwork the person in front of me in whatever it is wether it’s football or making a sandwich I’ll find a way to try and do it better.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

My favorite defensive scheme is a 4-2 box with a Sam outside. It allows our defensive to play both run and pass. I like having a big responsibility in stopping the run along with being involved in creative blitzes (coming off the outside, and choice of A gaps).

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

We have a night game at home this year which is exciting along with a total of 6 home games and nothings better than playing in front of your fans, but definitely playing the night game at home this year is exciting. Also were going to be a fairly young team this year so seeing how we can translate our offseason we had into this upcoming season is something I can’t wait to see.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Something that my dad has taught me and has always helped me is to have PMA which stands for positive mental attitude because having a strong positive mindset and attitude helps overcome any adversity at hand.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They’ll get someone that’s has the will to do whatever is possible to the team in the greatest position to win games. I also will thrive for my teammates to work hard and try and get them as involved into doing extra work as I possibly can. Lastly I’m a firm believer in leading by example so working hard on and off the field.

How do you prepare for games?

I spend a lot of time with our coaches watching film, we also get amazing scouting reports that I study on. But when it comes to gameday just making sure I’m hydrated, ate a good meal, and just throwing in my headphones to get locked in and prepared. I’m also very superstitious and I have to eat a bag of peach rings before every game for good luck.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

The most underrated played I’ve played with is Jeremy Inniss who plays CB for us. He’s one of the hardest workers I’ve ever met and is so driven it’s crazy. He’s incredibly athletic and is a lockdown corner. Been a blast having him on the field with me.
