What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I didn’t start playing football until 6th grade and I initially decided to start playing because
one of my friends asked if I wanted to join the same team as him.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My collegiate team had lost games that came down to the last drive 3 years in a row to
Missouri S&T and we finally beat them at home this past year on homecoming after being down at half time. Easily one of my favorite moments from playing football.

What sets you apart from other offensive linemen?

I think my background in basketball really allowed me to have elite footwork when I
made the transition to offensive line from tight end. With that I also think I have really good control of my body for my size allowing me to make movements other men my size just can’t make.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I typically do two things for my team when I’m on the field. The first is I allow my team to
have an outlet to calm them down and get rid of their nerves but after they calm down I typically get my teammates hyped by making big plays and being loud and obnoxious to the other team.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

My favorite player of all time is Gronk so getting a chance to hangout with for a day
would be pretty fun.

How do you prepare for games?

My two biggest things are stretching and music. Every night before a game I have to
spend at least an hour stretching making sure my legs and hips are loose for the next day. The type of music just depends on my mood at the moment.

What should we know about BJ Wilson the person?

I consider myself to be a jack of all trades. I enjoy learning new skills whether it be
videography or coding. I think I’m really good when it comes to learning new things and it’s
something that I’m passionate about.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Hurry up. I pride myself on being in shape and I have a pretty high motor so running a
fast paced offense allows me to really showcase my abilities at a high level.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I always try to take a second and take a step back and look at the bigger picture so I can really take in all the information for both situations but you don’t always have time to read the situation especially with football. In times like that I just react to my first instinct and trust it.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A player who has the ability to adapt well to all situations. Whether that be a change in position, going against different types of players or learning new offenses.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

This upcoming season there will be a lot of players on my team’s 2nd or 3rd collegiate season so they have some real experience under their belts now. I’m very excited to see what we are able to accomplish as a team this year.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Paul Sullivan. Paul is one of our slot receivers and he is easily one of the most consistent receivers I’ve ever played with and he always finds a way to get open. With this being said he’s never received any recognition.
