One of the newest members of the Miami Hurricanes, Antonio Moultrie had a very productive year in 2021 as a member of the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers. I really liked how he played against the run and how versatile he is having played all over the Defensive Line and at OLB.

Player Summary:

6th yr SR and 2 yr fulltime starter at ALBI who transferred to FLMI prior to 2022 season. A versatile player who lined up in a 2 Pt stance as well as a 5T, 4i, 3T and 1T across multiple fronts while playing in the predominantly 3-3-5 nickel defense of ALBI. He possesses good height and weight with poor speed with an athletic build. He is an ordinary athlete with solid COD, explosiveness, lateral quickness and agility with adequate acceleration, balance and top end play speed. Against the pass, he takes a quick first step and shows solid UOH in his hand placement and timing with a good repertoire of pass rush moves. His solid lateral quickness and agility enables him to effectively twist towards the opposite B gap. He shows good ability vs the run. He exhibits quality FBI as he quickly diagnoses run/pass, uses his solid UOH to win battles with his hands inside and defeat the block from TE and OT with ordinary size, length and UOH as he penetrates the LOS. Exhibits very good instincts as he takes the correct angle in pursuit before finishing up with a tackle behind the LOS or after a short gain. Plays with a quality motor as he consistently plays until the whistle. Demonstrates good competitive toughness as he rises to the occasion during big games. Adequate play strength combined with ordinary power in his hand punch as well as subpar hip and ankle flexion prevent him from bending at the apex and shed pass blocks against OT with good size and length. When playing inside on the DL against the pass, his lack of quality size and play strength prevent him from pushing the pocket against OG and C with solid play strength and physical toughness. Against T/G and T/TE double teams, he struggles to consistently get his pad level down leading to him being driven back.

Scheme Fit:

EDGE who could come in on high percentage run plays due to his good ability against the run.

Power Statement:

Antonio Moultrie is an intelligent, instinctive, versatile player who excels against the run. Subpar ability as a pass rusher prevents him from being an every down player.
