Matthew Adams the Bears linebacker was arrested for having a gun without the proper documentation.

Matt Adams signed with the Chicago Bears this year in April and his start with the Bears is already off to a rocky start.

According to reports, Adams was standing near a vehicle that was reportedly stolen when police approached him. Adams claimed he bought the car, but when Cops searched the Jeep they found a loaded handgun in the center console and an extended mag in the trunk.

Adams was arrested on a misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon, carrying/possessing a firearm and was cited for having a high capacity magazine and metal piercing bullets.

Adams does have a permit for the gun, but it was not issued by the State of Illinois.

According to TMZ Sports, the owner of the car did not want to press charges, calling everything a misunderstanding.
