Portland State football player Keenan Harpole surrenders to police after a woman was shot and killed
Keenan Harpole was a running back for Portland State University, and was a pretty solid player. The running back turned himself into police today and was booked for 2nd degree murder, domestic violence and unlawful use of a weapon.
According to reports, a female was shot multiple times outside of Mak’s Market near Portland State campus.
Responding officers found the woman outside the market. The victim’s name has not been released. This is Portland’s 24th homicide so far this year.
Portland State released this statement:
“This is an unthinkable tragedy and we extend our deepest sympathies to all of those who are impacted by this incident,” said PSU President Stephen Percy in a statement. “We will work together as a campus community to heal, reminding each other that violence is never the answer to the problems that we encounter.”
Harpole was a legend at Mountain View High School. He ran for 1,6154 yards and scored 24 touchdowns as a senior in high school and was named the MVP and first team All-League. He was only a Freshman at Portland State.
The young female’s name has not been released, but please keep her family as well as the family of Keenan Harpole in your prayers.
