De’Veon Smith says he did not break any rules and says the USFL is committing character assassination

USFL cut player over Chicken Salad
I am rooting for the USFL to be a huge success, but this right here is wrong. It is hard to feed 60 players, but to cut someone is wrong.

How far would you go if you know you are wrong to cover up a situation? That is the question here. We all know the story that dropped yesterday when the USFL released a video showing De’Veon Smith getting cut because he wanted Pizza over Chicken Salad.

The Pittsburgh Maulers have come out with a statement and get this, they are throwing all the blame on Smith saying he violated three rules in less that a 24-hour span. The main one was reportedly disrespecting a cafeteria worker, which was not captured on film. Smith says that several players were there and will tell you he was not disrespectful, but the Maulers were not having it.

They ended their memo saying that Smith reached out back to coach apologizing asking to be reinstated.

Well, Smith says the league and the Pittsburgh Maulers are lying.

I wonder how far this goes, will Smith hire an attorney? If this ruins his chances of getting another opportunity it could turn into character assassination, which is slander at it’s finest. Could that end up in a lawsuit? Potentially! This is from a law firms site about character assassination.

Knowingly and maliciously spreading lies is illegal in many regions, and may result in criminal charges levied against the instigator.

The USFL is here to help kids get a shot, this is not cool. I am sorry, but this needs to be fixed. The USFL did a great job at getting their name out there to be ruined by a dumb act. Cutting someone who hates Chicken Salad is dumb. I hate Chicken Salad. You are probably saying, he disrespected someone, that is fine, but if players come forth and say he didn’t disrespect anyone and was calm, this could end up being a huge slap in the face of the USFL.

To be honest if you watched the Maulers game last night and how many times Kirby Wilson ran the ball, he may want to beg De’Veon to come back and play because they looked horrible, and they ran the ball every play. Wow is all I can say.
