The 31-year-old former standout football player, was charged this week with being drunk and speeding through a red light killing 26-year-old Isiah Valle-Kirk in Minnesota.

Battles is still in court and has a 400,000 dollar bail set for his release.

Battles is from Youngstown, Ohio and did not have a Minnesota driver’s license.

When police arrived on the scene, Valle-Kirk was still in the vehicle badly injured. He was transported to the hospital where he would succumb to his injuries.

Battles on the other hand, smelled like alcohol, his eyes were glassy and he had difficulty concentrating according to police reports. He also failed a police field sobriety test.

If you would like to donate to the Go Fund Me for Isiah, you can do so there. They are still a few thousand away from their goal.
