Five teams that should go after New York Giants tight end Evan Engram

Evan Engram is not your prototypical tight end, he is so elusive he can actually play the slot position as well. The former Ole Miss tight end is a super athlete with great hands and speed.

Yesterday, the tight end market took a big time hit. Mike Gesicki, Dalton Schultz and David Njoku were all hit with the franchise tag, which makes Evan Engram pretty valuable.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that teams have been inquiring about Engram as a slot receiver as well as a tight end. The past two years, Engram spent most of his snaps in the slot playing 362 snaps in the slot. Let’s talk about five teams that should try to make a move to land the Giants tight end.

Buffalo Bills – The Bills have put their slot receiver up for trade, Cole Beasley is a big time target and will be a huge loss for the Bills. If the Bills can add a player who can block as well as play the slot the team may make the move. Engram and Dawson Knox together on the field at the same time makes sense. The Bills want to win it all, and adding Engram helps them.

Indianapolis Colts – The Colts need depth at the tight end position. Mo Alie-Cox is a free agent this year, and Engram can immediately become a huge addition. Yesterday, Jack Doyle retired, and the Colts have a glaring need at the position. Engram’s ability to play slot and tight end makes him extremely valuable.

Tennessee Titans – The Titans were amazing last year, but they need to keep it going. The Titans have three free agents at the tight end position this year and Engram will be an immediate upgrade. The Titans would be crazy not to go after Engram.

Los Angeles Chargers – The Chargers adding Engram would be amazing for Justin Herbert. Jared Cook is a free agent and while the team does love Donald Parham, Engram is a smaller pass catcher that can help on the underneath game. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Evan Engram would be pretty nasty with Austin Ekeler out the backfield for the young Oregon star QB.

Denver Broncos – Broncos just let go of Noah Fant in a trade to acquire Russell Wilson. The problem is Russell Wilson loves his tight end. The Broncos need to invest in a player like Engram. He is a slot player who can add value at the intermediate level for the Broncos.
