Texas A&M University moved quickly to suspend star wide receiver Demond Demas, who was arrested yesterday for assault causing bodily injury/family violence in a fight that reportedly happened with his girlfriend.
The report is pretty graphic, and claims that her top front teeth went through her bottom lip. She suffered bleeding, loose teeth, swelling and a hole in her bottom lip.
The charge occurred on Saturday. Demas girlfriend reports that he pushed her head into a wall and threw her off a bed after she bit him in the shoulder.
Demond Terell Demas, 21, turned himself in to authorities after a warrant was issued for his arrest on Tuesday. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
This is not the first run in with the law though for Demas. According to reports, he was also reportedly accused of hitting a girlfriend last year, though the Brazos County district attorney’s office declined to press charges following an investigation. He also has an arrest for marijuana possession back in March of 2021.
Demas was a five star recruit for the Aggies and had 15 receptions for 235 yards a redshirt freshman.
