Report: Jim Harbaugh in line to be the next Vikings head coach

Is Jim Harbaugh willing to leave Michigan to come back to the NFL? It sounds like he could be headed to the Minnesota Vikings.

According to Chris Balas, a beat reporter for Michigan Wolverines, Jim Harbaugh is expected to be hired by the Minnesota Vikings as their next head coach. In an article on On3, Balas says the interview was just a formality, and Harbaugh is headed there to sing a deal.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is headed to Minnesota for a Wednesday interview, but multiple sources say it’s a formality. Harbaugh heads there planning to sign a deal to become the NFL Vikings’ head coach.

Harbaugh was not in his office at Schembechler Hall today. Other sources told TheWolverine.com that while he didn’t address the team, he did say some “goodbyes” and “thank yous” yesterday.

Until then, it had been business as usual, with Harbaugh recruiting and making his spring schedule.

The Vikings need a coach, and this could be a great hire. Today the Vikings had Patrick Graham in for a nine-hour interview, and things went well, but could Harbaugh have the guy all along? The Raiders reportedly had an interest in the Michigan coach as well as the Dolphins who are owned by Michigan Alum Stephen Ross, but Ross did not want to pull Harbaugh away from the Wolverines, according to the report.

The Vikings have some great pieces, but it will be nice to see what happens tomorrow!
