Robert F. Smith could end up being the first black NFL owner. Would Robert K. Smith have interest in buying his hometown Broncos?

The Denver Broncos will have a new head coach soon, and they could have a new owner right after that! According to Pro Football Talk, The Broncos are expected to be put up for sale.

The great news is Robert F. Smith, the Denver native could end up becoming a trailblazer in the NFL. There are rumors that Robert F. Smith the Billionaire from Colorado is interested in buying the Broncos, according to Front Office Sports.

With an estimated net worth of $6.7 billion, the 59-year-old entrepreneur ranks as the richest Black person in America, according to Forbes. The Broncos sale could fetch a record $4 billion or more, which would make it the richest team sale in U.S. sports history.

Smith grew up in Denver. He founded Vista Equity Partners in 2000 and still serves as the company’s chairman and CEO. As of September, the private equity firm had $86 billion in assets under management.

I think this would be great for the NFL. The NFL needs to diversify. I think it would be great to see!
