2022 NFL Mock Draft 1.0 | Drafting for the Future

The 2022 NFL Draft is coming up soon, and we wanted to take our first stab at a Mock Draft. Let us know how we did!
  1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Evan Neal, OT, Alabama – Securing a starting left tackle to protect your franchise quarterback is key. I think Evan Neal helps Trevor Lawrence immediately.
  2. Detroit Lions – Aidan Hutchinson, DE, Michigan – He may not be a Lions fan, but he is the best pass rusher in the NFL Draft. He will be a superstar in the NFL Draft. The Lions cannot overthink this one.
  3. Houston Texans – Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE, Oregon – Texans have holes all over the field, but this kid can disrupt better than anyone. He is always in the backfield, the Texans need a spark.
  4. New York Jets – Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame – Jets land one of the best safeties to come out of the NFL Draft in the past 10 years. Hamilton will be a Pro Bowler.
  5. New York Giants – Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, CB, Cincinnati – The New York Football Giants land the best player in my opinion. I feel Gardner is not only the best cornerback but the best overall player.
  6. Carolina Panthers – Derek Stingley, CB, LSU – Carolina rarely uses high draft picks on cornerbacks but they do here and it is a simple move. Stingley will be a starter for many years.
  7. New York Giants – Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia – The Giants go back to defense. If they want to win they need a nasty defense like the 90’s when they had Lawrence Taylor and Carl Banks. Nakobe Dean and Sauce are amazing pick ups.
  8. Atlanta Falcons – Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa – Many will think this is a reach, but Trevor Penning is one of the best offensive lineman in the draft. The Falcons are not done with Matt Ryan yet, so they better protect him.
  9. Denver Broncos – Malik Willis, QB, Liberty – Denver is patient and they land the most athletic quarterback in the draft. Willis can make every throw and is the QB1 in my opinion of this draft.
  10. New York Jets – Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina State – Jets landed Zach Wilson and now you have to protect him. Adding Ekwonu is a great addition because he can play both left and right tackle.
  11. Washington Football Team – Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss – Washington cannot mess this up. Matt Corral is there and they need a quarterback. Do not take Kenny Pickett, stay away from him and you will be fine.
  12. Minnesota Vikings – Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah – The Vikings land one of the most underrated prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft. Lloyd is going to be a Pro Bowler on this team.
  13. Cleveland Browns – Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh – The Browns fans hate Baker Mayfield and are always complaining so what do the Browns do? They draft Kenny Pickett and his draft hype. Hopefully he turns out better than Baker, for some reason I do not feel that will happen.
  14. Baltimore Ravens – Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama – Jameson is the best pure talent pass catcher in the draft, he was injured but the Ravens have an extensive pipeline to Alabama and it continues to give Lamar a new toy.
  15. Philadelphia Eagles – Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State – Eagles have three picks and I feel they strike gold. First they land Chris Olave who can stretch the field and give Jalen Hurts another weapon.
  16. Philadelphia Eagles – George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue – Next, the Eagles land George Karlaftis who can get after the quarterback and create ruckus.
  17. Los Angeles Chargers – Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas – Chargers giving Justin Herbert more weapons? Yes, when you have a star quarterback you put everyone around him to make him better. Burks should not have fallen this far.
  18. New Orleans Saints – Carson Strong, QB, Nevada – If the Saints want to win, this is the pick. I know people will not like it but I feel Carson Strong will be the best quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft. In Sean Payton’s offense he could be the rookie of the year.
  19. Philadelphia Eagles – Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia – Eagles are not playing, they have three first round picks so they go out and get the biggest guy in the damn draft. If you want to stop the run game you get the mountain.
  20. Pittsburgh Steelers – Tyler Linderbaum, OG/OC, Iowa – Steelers are losing Big Ben, but Sam Howell is not the answer for them. Mason Rudolph likely gives them the best chance to win at this time, so protecting him is key.
  21. New England Patriots – Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State – Patriots are not far off and if they want to win more games they need to give Mac Jones more weapons. Garrett Wilson will help Jones out.
  22. Las Vegas Raiders – Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State – Raiders could benefit from kicking Alex Leatherwood inside. I think this move makes sense. Protect your QB at all costs.
  23. Arizona Cardinals – David Ojabo, DE, Michigan – Cardinals have some old pass rushers but adding a young player like Ojabo who has a knack for getting after the QB is a smart thing for an already stacked team.
  24. Dallas Cowboys – DeMarvin Leal, DT, Texas A&M – The Cowboys team is pretty solid but I think adding Leal would be a smart move. The Cowboys could use some help in the middle of their run defense.
  25. Buffalo Bills – Kenyon Green, OG, Texas A&M – Two Texas A&M players back to back. The Buffalo Bills need to protect Josh Allen. I feel like every time I turn the TV on there is a new player in at guard. Time to solidify a guard spot with a stud in Kenyon Green.
  26. Tennessee Titans – Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina – Ryan Tannehill is not the answer. The guy threw three picks this weekend and the Titans need to have a back-up plan. Sam Howell come on down.
  27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State – The Buccaneers could lose Chris Godwin in the off-season, if that is the case they better find a way to replace him. So they look to Godwin’s school to find a replacement.
  28. Green Bay Packers – Quay Walker, LB, Georgia – This is assuming they do everything they can to make Aaron Rodgers happy, the Packers need help on defense. I think they can get after the QB, but the linebacker play is rough. Walker can help immediately.
  29. Miami Dolphins (San Francisco 49ers) – Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota – You have to protect the quarterback, the Dolphins struggle to do this, and Faalele is a mammoth, he should help right away.
  30. Kansas City Chiefs – Derion Kendrick, CB, Georgia – The Chiefs are not afraid to take a flier and this is one of the smartest moves in the draft. Kendrick will end up being an All-Pro for them.
  31. Detroit Lions (From Los Angeles Rams) – Andrew Booth, CB, Clemson – Lions go to defense again. First Aidan Hutchinson then Andrew Booth a tenacious player in the secondary of Clemson.
  32. Cincinnati Bengals – Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan – The Bengals get Joe Burrow some help. Raimann is a huge man who can slow down the edge rush.
