What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Grew up around the game my whole life watching my dad coach and my older siblings play it kinda just groomed me into the game.

What sets you apart from other defensive backs?

I think physically my length, but mostly my instinct and intelligence about the game and knowing what the offense is thinking and what they’re trying to do.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

First off I pray and just look at the good in every situation and 2nd I always talk to my dad.

How are you planning to prepare for the draft?

Mainly working on my explosiveness and quick twitch. Keeping my hips loose and stretching.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My top 3 would be this recent season having 3 ints in one half, 2019 being 1 of 2 teams to win the conference at austin peay and last playing in my brother’s last high school game.

What should we know about Johnathon Edwards the person?

I’m a grateful person who understands and loves everyone.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I’m mostly the quiet confidence type of guy until I need to talk and always truthful and positive.

What is your favorite coverage and why?

Palms cover 4, because the cover is all based off what the wr’s do, it’s not something that a qb can look at and say I know what they’re in.

What do you love about the game of football?

That it relates a lot to life and teaches you things that only come with experience.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They well get a blue collar intelligent player that’s ready to work and would do anything to help the team win.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

Trusting each other, knowing your teammates and they’re why, selflessness and just passion for the game.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Tyrann Mathieu and to hear his whole story and to hear how he overcame so much just in his career to get where he is now.
